The Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, New Zealand National Fieldays in Mystery Creek, has been postponed until 30th November, organisers have announced. The event will now run from Wednesday 30th November until Saturday 3rd December, the first time the event will take place in the summer instead of its usual mid-winter slot.
The reason for the delay is to avoid the worst effects of Covid as New Zealand is currently experiencing an outbreak of the omicron variant, which has also caused resourcing and supply chain issues. Fieldays 2022 had been scheduled to run from 15th – 18th June, however the organisers want all attendees, exhibitors and stakeholders to be able to fully experience the event with limited restrictions.
Enterprise Ireland will once again host an Ireland pavilion at Fieldays, showcasing the best of Irish cutting-edge technology and innovative agritech solutions. 2022 will mark EI’s 16th year in attendance at the event, exemplifying the commonalities and close cooperation between the agribusiness industries in Ireland and New Zealand and the friendships and business relationships that have been formed over the years. Both nations have continued their commitment to fostering the next generation of agritech to maintain our countries’ positions as world leaders in the sustainable production of food and other agri products.
Fieldays 2021 was their first ever hybrid event following a fully virtual event, Fieldays Online, in 2020. The 2021 event was the 2nd largest in Fieldays’ history, with over 1000 exhibitors and almost 133,000 visitors across the four days, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger.
We would invite any Irish companies with an interest in attending Fieldays 2022 to contact Niall Casey, our Market Advisor for Agribusiness, Lifesciences and Equine, at Niall.Casey@enterprise-ireland.com.
